Controller

The controller responsible for data processing in connection with the Daily Dose of Security app is: PaviLabs, Pavisanth Pathmarajah, Gundelhardtstraße 2, 65779 Kelkheim, Germany. Email: mastertheschooloflife@gmail.com. This policy explains what data the app processes, where it is stored, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Local-only processing

Daily Dose of Security is designed to work without collecting your data. The app requires no user account, no registration, and no sign-in. There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and there are no in-app purchases. The app does not transmit any personal data to PaviLabs or to any server operated by PaviLabs. We do not operate a backend for this app.

Data stored on your device

The following data is stored exclusively on your device, in the app's local storage: your learning progress (completed lessons and quiz results), certificates you have earned, and the name you optionally enter for display on certificates. This data never leaves your device unless you actively choose to share a certificate. PaviLabs has no access to it.

Embedded YouTube videos (with your consent)

Some lessons offer an optional video hosted on YouTube. The video is not loaded automatically. It loads only after you explicitly tap the consent button in that lesson. If you consent, the video is embedded via YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Loading the video establishes a connection to Google servers and transfers data such as your IP address and device information to Google/YouTube. Recipient: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and Google LLC (USA). Transfers to the USA are covered by the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google is certified. The legal basis for loading the video is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withhold or simply not exercise; the lesson content remains usable without the video. Details on Google's processing: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Sharing certificates

PDF certificates are generated entirely on your device. They contain the name you entered and your training results. A certificate is shared only when you actively start the sharing process via your device's share sheet, and only with the app or recipient you select there. The subsequent processing by the receiving app or service is outside our control and subject to its own privacy terms.

No profiling, no automated decisions

The app performs no profiling and makes no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effect within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and the right to object (Art. 21). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. Because all app data is stored only on your device, you exercise most of these rights directly yourself, for example by editing your name or deleting your data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, your place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.

Deleting your data

You can delete all data stored by the app at any time: use the reset function in the app settings, or uninstall the app. Either action removes all locally stored progress, certificates, and your entered name. PaviLabs holds no copy.

Children

The app is suitable for general audiences. It collects no personal data from anyone, including children. The optional YouTube videos are subject to the consent mechanism described above.

External links to learning resources

Some lessons recommend external, free learning resources (for example the OWASP Foundation, the MITRE ATT&CK knowledge base, national cyber security agencies, or interactive training sites). These links open in your device browser only when you actively tap them. The app itself loads no content from these sites. Once you open a link, the processing of your data is governed by the privacy policy of the site you visit.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy when the app changes or when legal requirements make it necessary. The current version is always available inside the app; the date above shows when it was last revised.

Datenschutzerklärung (Deutsch)

Daily Dose of Security · Stand: 2026-08-29

Verantwortlicher

Kein Profiling, keine automatisierten Entscheidungen
